when it all started

When I was a little boy I just couldn't stand the scandalous guitar solos of Led Zepellin, or the long haired guys of Deep Purple singing "smoke on the water and fire in th sky..." well, it was a lot to take to a 7 year-old boy! I even remember a cousin of mine playing the mimic of a guitar solo, with the headphones put on and lain on the rug like having a stroke or epileptic attack while listening to a Hendrix's song.

It was definetely my first encounter with this music, unable to understand it, I did not use to like it honestly, then back in 1998, in the middle of my living room, while my brother and I were decorating the Christmas tree, there was in the back a song called "let love rule" I know it was a Lenny Kravitz's hit, but, what I didn't know, was that it was a reminiscence of the psychodelic style of the late 60's.

This was my first, but not my proper awakening*, but this experience let me walked into the musical significance of psychodelic music, which really marked my life and allowed me to be introduced into this particular path.

*awakening: It refers to the first drug experience of young people in the 60's, conducted many times by a guru and most of the times accompanied by rock psychodelic music.
